One big life update to tell it all. . .
When I think about blogs, I always think about people telling about their day or venting about the week they had. I would do the same but I feel like maybe I could just provide a major update every once in a while instead. Then the rest of my posts are just me talking about whatever I'm currently working on or random thoughts of mine... is that all the same thing? Maybe it is... I don't know.
Well anyway, maybe I could provide these 'Life Updates' every month or so. I got some things on my mind that I want to share. It could also help keep things together cause it's all noise in my head. It's hard to organize it all and I'm always trying to find new and better ways to do so.
I can kick things off here with talking about my personal elephant in the room:
October 17th, tomorrow as of this post, is the 10 Year Anniversary of my YouTube channel, M-T Creations!
I started this YouTube channel back in 2014 with the intent of creating only Minecraft videos under the name: "Mining Creeper 2" But the channel of course became much bigger than I initially imagined it would. It now holds 1,280 subscribers and an overall view count of 360,177!
This week I'm releasing a HUGE compilation of my best, favorite, and most relevant videos from the channel to celebrate the work I've put into the channel all these years.
I'm super excited to put it out there!
Friday I'm going to host a big watch party with my friends to watch the full thing, eat snacks, and have fun!
Thursday night my town has a special event where you go in your Halloween costume to the town square and they'll give out candy and do this Thriller dance thing. It's pretty fun but unfortunately falls on the day of the premiere of my 10 year anniversary special so I can't really watch it when it goes live. But I'm sure watching it with my friends Friday will still bring about lots of fun. At least I won't have to worry about a school night!
After this special premieres and the town event happens, I'm excited to get to work on a bunch of projects that I've been waiting on completing! Or simply just work on.
Here's the list of my top priorities of things that I've been aiming to worry about other than the school work that I already am worrying about. Because school, of course, does come first. I need that degree...
- The Mapping Unit
- 3D Printing projects
- Welcome to Chipocot
I'm going to explain these like you're completely new to me and my YT channel just so any newbies are on the same page... and because I like explaining my stuff.
The Mapping Unit
The Mapping Unit is a Minecraft survival series that I've been working on with my friends. Episodes 1-5 are out on my channel now and they've been doing decently well as far as videos on my channel go.
Right now I'm editing episode 6. I have to finish this one and episode 7 which are both on my laptop. Then I'm hoping to get to the episodes I recorded on my PC and start recording more episodes.
I'm really excited about how this project is coming along and I'm happy to see it grow and get attention.
I won't say anything else about it, I'd rather encourage new people to go give the series a watch if they're interested. This series is my love letter to how I initially intended to make M-T Creations a Minecraft YouTube channel.
3D Printing Projects
I'm gonna make a video on this soon but I recently have been working on a couple of 3D printing projects.
The first one is this figure of Ford Pines from Gravity Falls. One of my friends is absolutely obsessed with the character and commissioned me this model.
This became one of my favorite 3D printed models and somehow makes me sad to part with it for $33.
The face is interchangeable, the extra head has a stand, and Bill Cipher can plug into Ford's upper back to stick to his shoulder!
I sculpted this whole thing myself in Blender, 3D printed it, and painted it with acrylics. This model is currently waiting on getting a spray of clear coat before I hand it off to my friend.
After I finished this model, I ended up making another for myself. Except it's not Ford but rather the human OC I made based on Walt Disney World's Epcot Center's defunct attraction: Horizons.
I also sculpted this one from scratch in Blender and even made some renders to show how it would look once it's printed and painted.
Horizons is one of my favorite OCs. She represents the same optimism about the future that the original ride created. If you want to know her story, I have a few videos where I introduce my Epcot OCs and read out a story that I've been writing about them! Go check out Spirits of the Epcot Center on my channel if you're interested!
Here's the current state of the Horizons figure after being printed. Some parts broke off and I have to fix her up.
My current 3D printer doesn't do well with complicated prints like these. I've been looking into getting a new one.
This is the printer that I'm looking forward to getting. The Bambu Labs A1.
My current DaVinci Jr. 1.0 Pro or whatever it's really called, I got in 2018. I think getting a new printer is well overdue. I'll make a separate post providing an update on that journey another time.
Welcome to Chipocot
This project is one that I’m SUPER excited about!
I’ve been writing and developing the story and characters since October of last year. It’s been a blast and I’m stoked to get it out there officially in its final form as an entire animated series!
I’ve already made some introductory animations to test how they’ll look animated and introduce the characters!
You can find them on my YouTube channel but I might as well send the links here:
